A Life in Sacred Service

Keepers of the Hearth, Guardians of Sacred Relationships

Sherry Boatright has dedicated her life to sacred service, walking the ancient path of relationship with nature, Spirit, and Divine. As a Sacred Fire Firekeeper, she tends the hearth—a place of wisdom, connection, and renewal—where people gather to rekindle the lost knowledge that once guided humanity to walk in balance and gratitude with Life.

Sherry & David, in the Nahua Mayoría in Tepoztlán, Morelos México.

She is a Nahua weather worker and tepahtiani, entrusted with maintaining right relationship between people and the elements. Her calling is one of deep responsibility, restoring harmony when the balance is disturbed, and ensuring that the voices of the land and the spirits are heard and honored.

Sherry is happily married to Don David Wiley, with whom she shares a profound commitment to this sacred work. Together, they uphold and transmit the wisdom of the ancestors, ensuring that these traditions continue to serve those who seek them.

The land they care for in Carrollton, Georgia, is more than a home—it is a sacred gathering place, a living presence that holds the work of ceremony and community. Here, Sherry, along with Wixárika mara’akame Lawrence Messerman and his wife, Jessica de la O, tends the hearth that welcomes those seeking guidance, healing, and connection. The Council House serves as a center for this work, hosting Community Fires, preparation camps, Firekeeper facilitations, and, when needed, Weather Work Ceremonies.

Lawrence Messerman & Jessica de la O, in the Wixárika Homelands, in Tateikie, Mezquitic, Jalisco, México.

Sherry’s devotion is an offering—not just to those who come seeking, but to the land itself, to the fire that unites all things, and to the spirit of community that strengthens the heart. In tending the hearth, she keeps the flame alive for all who wish to remember, reconnect, and walk this path with purpose.
