Grupo Tatewarí is dedicated to healing, spiritual guidance, and the preservation of ancestral wisdom through the Wixárika (Huichol) tradition. At a time when many feel disconnected from themselves, their communities, and the natural world, the group offers a path of renewal—reminding people of their place in the sacred web of life.

As mara’akate (traditional healers and counselors), they have been recognized by the Wixárika elders, the Kawiterutsirri, as committed practitioners of this ancient healing tradition. Their work is deeply rooted in service, sacred vows, and a lifelong relationship with Tatewarí (Grandfather Fire), the original teacher of the Wixárika shamans. Through pilgrimages to sacred sites in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico, they make offerings, prayers, and ceremonies to uphold the balance between the human world and the spiritual realms.

Beyond their healing and ceremonial work, Grupo Tatewarí is committed to reciprocity with the Wixárika community. They founded the Huichol Art Project, which provides economic support to Wixárika families by helping sustain their traditional crafts and way of life. Additionally, through the San Andres Fund, they offer direct financial aid to support Wixárika pilgrimages, ceremonies, and the maintenance of ceremonial centers in their ancestral villages.

Their mission is not only to preserve the wisdom of an ancient medicine path but also to make it accessible and relevant to modern individuals seeking healing, guidance, and a deeper connection to life. Grupo Tatewarí invites all who are called to explore this path, to learn from these teachings, and to walk with integrity, gratitude, and respect for the sacred.
