    Annual Pilgrimage to Wirikuta - Each year, Don David Wiley, attending shaman of Grupo Tatewari, fulfills his sacred mandas through the traditional pilgrimage to Wirikuta—the sacred desert honored by the Wixárika people as the birthplace of the world. Guided by elder mara’akame Don Efren González, this journey is reserved for initiated mara’akate and serves to deepen their commitment, reinforce ancestral teachings, and strengthen their healing work through authentic, lived experience within the tradition.

    Kawiterutsirri: Guardians of Ancestral Wisdom - The Kawiterutsirri are the council of elders of Grupo Tatewari, a group of dedicated Westerners walking the Wixárika medicine path under the guidance of Grandfather Fire, the first and original shaman. As initiated mara’akate (traditional healers and counselors), they ensure the integrity of this ancient tradition while making it accessible to modern seekers. Rooted in honor, respect, and spiritual responsibility, the Kawiterutsirri meet regularly to guide Grupo Tatewari’s work, holding ceremonies, leading pilgrimages, and supporting those called to the ancestral path. Their mission is to rekindle humanity’s lost connection to the sacred, bringing balance and healing to individuals and communities. Though they live in different parts of the world, they remain united through ongoing gatherings, both online and in person, ensuring that Grandfather Fire’s wisdom continues to illuminate the way forward.

Grandfather Fire - ancient teacher and keeper of wisdom - will acknowledge their journey and declare their readiness to serve as sacred flame keepers. This rare Audience offers more than ceremony; it's a transmission of primordial wisdom. As the fire crackles with answers to soul-deep questions, witness how 800,000 years of guidance still illuminates our modern hearts. Public welcome for the open wisdom sharing; initiation portion reserved for graduating Firekeepers. The flames await.

    During Recovery Days, Don David Wiley is not available for sessions or events. These days are dedicated to his vital recovery after serving as a conduit for the God of Fire. Each time Grandfather Fire calls him into the ether, Don David endures intense physical strain as his temperature rises and he enters a deep trance-like state. This powerful process comes with great risk, as he channels sacred wisdom from Divine to share with others.
