Events

Firekeeping, as embraced by Sacred Fire, is a profound path of service and transformation. Firekeepers are dedicated individuals who commit to hosting monthly community fires, creating sacred spaces where people can gather to reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world. These gatherings offer a welcoming environment for open dialogue, emotional expression, and communal support, fostering a sense of belonging and shared humanity. The journey to becoming a Firekeeper involves an 18-month apprenticeship that includes individual and group online study, in-person training, and supervised fire circles. Apprentices develop facilitation skills, learn to work with the cycles of emotions, and engage in personal spiritual growth. An experienced Firekeeper serves as a sponsor throughout this process, providing guidance and support. The training culminates in an initiation held in Tepoztlán, Morelos, Mexico, marking the transition into the role of a Sacred Fire Firekeeper. By holding space for these sacred gatherings, Firekeepers help individuals remember and experience the ancient practice of coming together around Fire. This practice has been central to human communities for millennia, serving as a source of wisdom, healing, and connection. Through their commitment, Firekeepers play a vital role in nurturing community bonds and guiding others toward a more heart-centered and balanced way of living.
